Work in Progress!
This impressive scaffolding was used to gain access to and repair (and make safe) the top of the tower which had been held in place for some years by a less ambitious scaffold structure.
It was reported in the "Staines Leader" that (locally abundant) ring-necked parakeets were responsible for much of the damage by boring holes in the timbers.
With the work completed (early 2005), the tower is once again displayed to its former glory.
